Are EyeSpy247 cameras easy to set-up?

Easier than many IP cameras in fact.

BT Home Hubs and routers from Sky, 02 and many others all support our unique auto set-up system for quick and easy install of an EyeSpy247 camera.

What you'll need is an active broadband service, a wired or wireless router (with a spare LAN port for initial set-up, after which you can set it up for WiFi access)

You'll also need a PC or Mac handy to perform the initial set-up.

Can I use the cameras without using the EyeSpy247 web portal?

Certainly, you can set up and use any of our cameras stand alone. The flexibility and choice is yours. We even provide you free NVR software so you can record locally to a PC or Mac and some of our cameras even have an on-board facility to record directly to a micro SD card - saving you needing to buy expensive recording hardware.

But, of course, using our web platform does make things a whole lot easier not just for viewing Live video but for making best use of your camera for remote security recordings, alerts and more.

Can the cameras record continuously?

IP cameras are designed to record clips based on motion or other sensors being triggered on them and these clips are usually between 10 and 15 secs long - which also ensures they are able to be uploaded to your EyeSpy247 account or emailed or FTP'd to you quickly.

However you can certainly set the cameras to record more continuously using either the free NVR software we provide, or to your NAS system or any other NVR you may want to use.

Can I view a camera from my iPhone/Android/Blackberry?

Yes. What's more, we have a dedicated mobile website at http://www.eyespy247.com/mob/ just to make it even easier.

Can I view the cameras on any computer?

You get real-time Live video access as standard with all our cameras which you can view using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and many other browsers via Windows, Mac or Linux computers and you can even stream the video in media players such as VLC.

Are my personal details, images and videos secure?

Our systems are locked down with a mixture of industry standard SSL and home grown security protocols, using our experience of over 12 years Internet services provision. We also know and appreciate your concerns about your stored data; you can download and/or delete the images and video on your account at any time. So, you are always in control of your media.

Moreover, all personal information is handled in accordance with UK data laws and we are members of the Data Protection Register (registration number Z1756049). This can be verified at http://www.ico.gov.uk

How long are images and videos stored for?

That's up to you and how you use your storage quota. Unlike most online recording services we don't time limit how long you can archive your images and video.

How much online disk space will I need?

That depends on how many images and videos you want to record and store. You can manage your space as needed by downloading and deleting stored media anytime and can even add more recording room, if you want to store more clips.

There's even a 'loop recording' facility which can ensure you don't run out of disk space on your account by automatically over-writing the oldest recordings with new ones that come in from your camera.
